Melbourne Landmark - Royal Exhibition Building

The Royal Exhibtion Building in Melbourne Australia has recently been named a World Heritage Site.

The building, in traditional style for the 19th Century was placed in a large surrounding garden, where it still stands today.

The Carlton Gardens, as the surrounding garden was called, had been designed in a traditional ‘parterre’ style, where wheels, triangles, circles and other shapes are planted with flowers, trees and shrubs.
