Richmond, Surrounds of Melbourne

Located just east of the city centre of Melbourne Australia, the suburb of Richmond is known for its shopping, great eateries, pubs and nightlife. See map : SE Melbourne City Map.

You can find plenty of shopping opportunities on Bridge Road, which runs through Richmond to the east. There are trams that you can take, including the Number 75 (seen in the photo) and the Number 48 tram to get here from the city.

There are numerous shops, catering to shoppers looking for fashion, from shoes to formal wear, including bridal. There are also spas, hair salons and more that can cater to your every need to look and feel good.

There are also number of great Melbourne restaurants located in Richmond, especially on Bridge Street, as well as bakeries, bars and historic pubs.

How to Get to Richmond

You can also take a walk to Richmond from the city, through the iconic Fitzroy Gardens or past the famed Melbourne Cricket Ground. If your going through the Fitzroy Gardens, be sure to check out the Captain Cook’s Cottage and the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens Conservatory.

Tram lines no. 75 from Flinders Street or the no. 48 from Collins Street, both in the city centre can get you here.
