Things to bring to Australia - travel documents, check to make sure that your travel documents are current, this can save an endless amount of time. Tickets you may have pre purchased for air, train or bus. A phone contact / address list of your family, relatives and friends in case of emergency
Travel documents needed include your Passport, Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) or other visa, proof of your onward or return ticket, and sufficient funds for your use in Australia are required.
Remember you are only allowed 20-30kgs of luggage on the flight to Australia. Travel as light as you can makes for an easier journey but of course its important to put thought to what you do need to bring.
Credit cards from Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club are accepted in Australia. A credit card makes car rentals much simpler, many agencies will not allow rental of a vehicle if you do not have an accepted credit card for security deposit.
Tip: A simple way to keep your money safe is by opening a bank account with one of the major banks.

Australia is free of many pests and diseases found on other continents, so if you wish to bring these sort of things you must declare them, they will be inspected. You will be given a declaration document to sign before landing in Australia.
