World famous Bondi Beach, another icon of Sydney Australia. Surf, swim (between the red/yellow flags on the beach!). Myriad of restaurants and cafes catering to most, if not all, tastes. There is a Bondi to Coogee walk, mostly level or mild slopes, offering great coastal views and more beaches and cafes.

8 kms from the City Centre to Bondi beach! Take the train to Bondi Junction then bus to the beach, or take the Bondi and Beach Explorer bus from Circular Quay or along the route.

Centennial Park

Used by Sydneysiders as a recreational park for a long time, Centennial Park was created in 1886 to celebrate the landing of the First Fleet in 1786. Besides picnic and BBQ areas, there is bird watching, roller-blading, golf, tennis, even horse riding. Horses and bicycles can be hired there. In November through to February, there is the outdoor Moonlight Cinema.

Victoria Barracks

First home to the British, then NSW and now the Australian Army - this colonial Georgian complex is still very active today. Open Thursdays from 10am, it has a flag raising ceremony and marching band, followed by guided tours of both the museum and the barracks.

Watsons Bay

A popular waterside suburb that is known for its great seafood, particulary Doyle’s Seafood Restaurant and assorted fish and chip shops, but also swimming, Vaucluse House and if your up for it, a 40 minute stroll will offer great views of the ocean and the harbour at South Head.
