The building was designed by an ex-convict, Francis Greenway. Its elegant and simple design makes it one of his best.
You can visit here, there is a museum that houses a collection of artefacts from the early years of Sydney, as well as displays and exhibitions. You can see where the prisoners slept and how they lived. Find it on the Sydney Map:
