Aboriginal Artist Walangari Karntawarra and the Diramu Aboriginal Performers

Enthralling and engaging, the Diramu Aboriginal performers are a traditional Aboriginal didgeridoo and dance troupe, made up of the former members of the very popular and successful Yidaki Didge and Dance.

Diramu Aboriginal Performers

Led by Aboriginal elder Walangari Karntawarra, the members of Diramu are all seasoned and professional Aboriginal performers who have delighted and entertained audiences for over 20 years.

Their traditional dances, Dreamtime story telling, masterful didgeridoo music and songs are a vibrant and captivating way of showcasing our rich Indigenous culture to overseas visitors and Australian public.

Les Saxby - Yidaki Didge and Dance

The Diramu Aboriginal Performers take great pride in their work and have a well-earned reputation within the corporate, tourism, educational and government sectors.

They are continuing the high standard of work of the much loved and respected founder of Yidaki Didge and Dance, the late Les Saxby and their important role as entertainers and educators.

Diramu

The word Diramu means ‘tree’ in the language of the Darug clan of the Eora Nation, the traditional owners of the Sydney Australia region. Diramu symbolises strength and knowledge. A tree provides food, shelter and many of the tools and implements used in our traditional life including boomerangs, canoes and didgeridoos.
