In the surrounds of the township of Tura Beach on the Sapphire Coast part of the South Coast of NSW there are lots of things to do.

Fishing, boating, scuba diving, snorkelling and kayaking are some of the water related sports and activities available, all set in the stunning location of the Sapphire Coast. There are also cruises available, not only of the coast but the on the lakes and waterways of the Sapphire Coast. Whale Cruises and dolphin spotting cruises are also available.

On the land, hiking, horse riding, camping, 4 wheel drive trekking are also enjoyed and in the air, you can also go touring via air at the Merimbula airport.

Golf

With five golf courses in the region, the Tura Beach Golf Course is one of the best. Tathra, Pambula, Merimbula Golf Club, Eden and Bega also have scenic and inspiring courses.

Markets

There are markets on the weekends in many of the small towns and villages that dot the Sapphire Coast, selling fresh local produce (Support the Local Farmers!), arts and crafts, locally made jewellery and designer clothes, as well as other goods.

Wildlife

In the National Parks and Nature Reserves there is plenty of wildlife and birdlife to spot, you can also visit the reserves of Yellow Pinch Wildlife Park and Potoroo Palace for close up views. See the Sapphire Coast National Parks Map.

Sapphire Coast Beaches

Tura Beach, Pambula Beach and Merimbula are amongst the many beautiful of places to visit along the Sapphire Coast. This part of the Sapphire Coast can be a good place to base yourself for exploring this diverse region.

Pristine lakes and waterways, golden sand beaches that stretch for miles, nature walks that inspire and plenty of the extras that make for a good holiday. In town, there are some very nice restaurants, a good range of accommodation and plenty of things to do. Golf is popular here, with courses set near the ocean with fantastic views, as is fishing and boating.

Ben Boyd National Park

Just to the south of Merimbula and Pambula Beach is the Ben Boyd National Park. There are some fantastic coastal walks here and through the park with great views. The Pinnacles are a natural formation that are made of red clay and white sands, you can access them and beautiful Long Beach from the north part of the park on Haycock Road.

Bournda National Park

Bournda National Park is just to the north of Tura Beach. This park has stunning coastal views, crystal clear water rivers, lagoons and lakes.

There are plenty of walks and bike rides, Wallagoot Lake has a boat ramp and picnic areas and there is also camping available within certain parts of Bournda National Park.
