Canberra Australia has much to offer visitors and those wishing to explore this planned city of the world. Despite political and public service interference, Walter Griffinés clear vision of what should be has blossomed into what it is today.

Places to Explore

The Canberra National Monuments Triangle is a good place to start. Located with a triangle shape with one end being the new Parliament House (Capitol) Civic Square at another, with the third being the east end of the beginning of Parkes Way.

Other places within the triangle include the National Capital Exhibition, the Captain Cook Memorial Fountain, the Australian National Library, Questacon, the National Portrait Gallery and more. Most of them are easily accessible from Lake Burley Griffin, the man-made lake in the center of the city.

Hop on Hop Off Red Bus

There is a regular Hop On, Hop Off Red Bus service operating in Canberra. This allows you to explore Canberra all day, with stop offs at all the main places to visit.

With the daily ticket, you can go to any of the places you wish to visit and when your finished, hop back on the bus to explore further. However, if your severely limited for time, you can just stay on the bus and do the whole loop in about one hour.

Canberra Tours

You can easily find a tour in Canberra that will suit you and your schedule. There are tours of wineries, national museums and monuments, modern architecture, even enjoy a joy flight to take in all the sights from the air.

Private tours in a luxury limousine are also available, as are small guided tours in class A chauffeured transport. Bicycle, Segways and enjoyable walks taking in the sights are also another way to explore this modern and clean city.
