Facing Heaven Archway

The Chinatown Plaza at Cohen Place in Melbourne’s Chinatown Precinct features the ‘Facing Heaven’ Archway, a welcoming sign for visitors.

The archway was made in China, like so many things nowadays, but was created using traditional techniques and assembled in place here by skilled workers from the motherland.

Recently refurbished, Cohen Place is surrounded by Chinese and other Asian restaurants, well worth a visit or more to sample the delicious fare. There are meals for all budgets to be found here, whether for a special occasion or just something different.

Another place to visit here is the Chinese Museum and the Chinatown Visitor Centre. Both located at 22 Cohen Place, just off Little Bourke Street, the museum features historical artefacts and stories of the Chinese settlers who came here in search of Gold and those who liked Australia so much they decided to raise their families here.

At the Chinatown Visitor Centre, you can find out about bargains, promotions and other specials. More about Melbourne Chinatown - Melbourne Australia Chinatown - With Map.
