Parramatta, considered the Heritage heart of Sydney, is only a 50 minute journey on the RiverCat, a catamaran ferry ride, from Circular Quay at the foot of the city. Parramatta has an excellent range of accommodation, a number of very fine restaurants, nightly entertainment and great shopping.
Being more or less the regional centre Sydney, frequent train services, including express services to the inner city of Sydney are available from the conveniently located train station. The train station also has trains to the west, including the Blue Mountains and beyond, as well as connections to the north and south.
Free Loop Bus
There is a free Loop Bus that will take you to all the places worth visiting in Parramatta. They include the Phillip St. restaurants, Parramatta Train Station, Parramatta Westfields, Parramatta Stadium, the Leagues and RSL clubs, and Church Street.
Church Street is serviced by the free ‘Loop’ bus; the route includes Phillip Street restaurants, Parramatta Station, Westfield, Parramatta Park, Riverside Theatres, Parramatta Stadium, the Leagues and RSL clubs, and Eat Street (Church Street).
Sydney Airport is at Mascot, and is also convienently serviced by trains to and from Parramatta Sydney Airport, and other public transport as well as shuttle services to Parramatta.
