Bowral Thai Restaurant

Below is a list (no particular order) of our favourite Bowral restaurants and other places to eat. Bowral is a thriving country set in a beautiful place, just a short drive from Sydney and the Illawarra:
Not far off the main road in Bowral, is the Biota Dining restaurant. Set in beautiful gardens, they have a great degustation menu to try. From the Homecut Fries to the Sashimi Snapper and the Braised, Grilled & Glazed Beef Shin, the food was delicious. Their dishes are sourced locally and in season, Saturday nights has the seven course menu option only. On Sunday, they have the BBQ feasting on the lawn, made from the best local produce New England has to offer.

Both locals and visitors to New England rave about this café and market, not only for lunch but their all-day (8am to 3pm) breakfast as well. You can eat al fresco, and outside the place is also dog friendly. Reasonably priced food, they also have a good selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes for you to try.

This kitchen serves great and authentic Italian food, as it is family owned and operated. They are proud of their dishes, and rightly so.

Despite mixed reviews, we have always have had great food here. Brilliant Coconut Cream Prawn Soup that was full of flavour as was the BBQ pork. Popular with families.

Eschalot Restaurant is located just further up the road (Old Hume Highway) in the historic village of Berrima, but the food and service is worth the extra few minutes drive. Their aim is to provide dishes made from the freshest of local in season produce, and combined with the knowledgeable and creative staff, deliver.
If you love Duck, try the Thirlmere Duck breast glazed with Tasmanian honey. Or the Steamed Sea Bass with the Black Bean & Shallot Oil. The desserts are tasty and almost too beautiful to eat, they looked so good.

The Southern Highlands are located in the Great Dividing Range of Australia, a series of mountain ranges that divides the east coast of Australia from the its center. Stretching from the south of Victoria to Queensland, it is the result of geological actions over the millenia, beginning some 300 million years ago when the continent of South America had pressed against Australia.
An easy drive from the Southern Highlands to the beautiful South Coast for great beaches, national parks and resorts: South Coast of NSW.
