Western Australia Map

Besides the obvious place to visit in Western Australia, Perth and its Surrounds, the state has many stunning and pristine areas to go, see and experience as WA covers more than 2,526,786 square kilometres, occupying a third of the continent.

Explore the Goldfields (yes, there is still gold there) Ningaloo Reef National Park, The Kimberley, the Nullabor and Margaret River.

Nambung National Park

Central Coast: Nambung National Park with its Pinnacles Desert. Aside from the pristine beaches located here, the NP has natural formations called the Pinnacles. Built over a long time by micro-organisms. Between the months of September and October, the heathlands bloom with thousands of wildflowers. Take some time to visit the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre, where you can explore the rich cultural and natural history of the region, with artefacts, multimedia displays, soundscapes and videos.

Kalgoorlie

Goldfields: Kalgoorlie provides a fascinating look at life of the early gold hunters/settlers. Located in the East Coolgardie goldfield, many of its original buildings are still extant today. Why not try your own hand at finding gold in the region, providing you follow the advice of those who are knowledgeable.

Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area

North Coast: Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area, known for its surf and fishing. There is abundant sealife here, dive with whale sharks and view the colourful multi-coloured reefs, close to shore. The area includes Ningaloo Marine Park, as well as the pristine land of Cape Range National Park.

The Muiron Islands Marine Management Area, just off North West Cape is also protected in the World Heritage Area. Dolphins, turtles, dugongs, pilot and humpback whales can be seen here. Consisting of South Muiron and North Muiron islands as well as the smaller Sunday island. Go diving here in the waters offshore with a local charter operator for truly memorable experiences.

Whether you wish to explore with a 4 wheel drive and camp or vacation in luxury surroundings or inbetween, the natural allure of the region will leave you inspired.
