Iluka Bluff
Head up the Iluka Bluff to get some great views of the coastline and surrounds. There is a whale watching platform as well so you may be actually able to see migratory whales in their season (Winter and Spring). They travel from their Antartic feeding grounds to the north of Australia to calve their young and back again.

Yuraygir National Park
South of Yamba, Yuraygir National Park has the longest stretch of pristine coastline (65kms) in the state. In the hinterlands there are lakes and forests, while the sandy beaches are great for lazing, exploring and swimming. You can spot kangaroos, wallabies and possums and other wildlife in the park, going about their daily business.
Iluka Nature Reserve
The World Heritage Listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia includes the nature reserve, with the largest collection of native plants and trees, some with a very ancient ancestry, dating back to the time of the dinosaurs.
Bundjalung National Park
Located just to the north of the town. With gorgeous beaches, lagoons and waterways, Bundjalung National Park protects this part of the NSW Coast. Kayaking, swimming, snorkelling, surfing and just enjoying the fresh ocean air while exploring the park are all popular activities, as is fishing.
In the central part of the park, there are wetlands and lagoons, with a diverse variety of wildlife. Camping is available. Last but not least, it also has some 38kms of glorious beaches.
