Bondi Beach may be the stuff of legends, but is also the closest beach to the city centre. This beautiful crescent beach attracts many visitors throughout the year:

Tamarama

Just south of Bondi

Tamarama Beach is a smaller beach but accessible by bus or a pleasant walk from Bondi Beach on the Sydney Eastern Beaches Walk:

Bronte

Just south of Tamarama

Sydney’s Bronte is a smaller, semi-secluded beach than Bondi. There is a large park behind it, with facilities for a picnic or even a beach BBQ:

Clovelly Beach also has a park to enjoy:

Coogee is a favourite with the backpackers from all over the world as well as Australia:

Maroubra Beach

Nearest beach to the Airport

The beach at Maroubra is a lot of fun for surfers, boogie boarders and body surfers. There is also more sedate rock pool for the young ones:

Malabar

Nearest beach to the Airport

Malabar Beach is at the end of a long bay, peaceful on most days and, like Maroubra, close to Sydney Airport:

Cronulla Beaches

Four Main Beaches

The Cronulla Peninsula, located on the the south side of Botany Bay has four main beaches: Wanda Beach, Elouera Beach, North Cronulla, South Cronulla and Shelly Beach. Cronulla is accessible by train from the city and close to four National Parks, making it a good place to stay while you explore the rest of Sydney. See more about the Cronulla Beaches.
